 News Report Format

  1. Headline

    • The headline should be catchy and summarize the main point of the news in a short, clear way.
  2. Byline

    • This section includes the name of the reporter (you can write “By [Your Name]”).
    • Include the date and the location where the news is happening.
  3. Lead Paragraph

    • The lead should answer the basic questions: Who? What? When? Where? Why? (sometimes How?).
    • This paragraph should give a brief summary of the most important details of the story.
  4. Body of the Report

    • Expand on the details of the story in 2-3 paragraphs.
    • Include quotes, opinions, and other important information that will help readers understand the story.
    • Keep the paragraphs short and clear.
  5. Conclusion

    • End with a concluding statement that sums up the story or gives additional information, such as possible future developments or reactions.
