Change the sentences into direct speech statements. (Page no.75)

5. Rahul informed me that he had met our maths teacher the day before and he had promised to visit us that day.

D. Change the following interrogative statements into indirect speech. (Page no.77-78)

1. He said to me, "Who are you and what is it that you want from me?"

2. Garima said to her grandmother, "Would you read me a story?"

3. The stranger said to me, "Have you lost your way?"

4. I said to Rahul, "Would you like to have a pizza?"

5. Rohit said to the man, "Could you direct me to the post office?"

Ans:

1. He questioned me that who I was and what it was that I want from him.

2. Garima asked her grandmother if she would read her a story.

3. The stranger asked me if I had lost my way.

4. I asked Rahul whether he would like to have pizza.

5. Rohit asked the man if he could direct him to the post office.

Blow Out

Rewrite the sentences in the reported speech. When a statement in direct speech is changed into reported speech, the tense changes. (Page no. 78)
