This delightful poem is written from the point of view of a little girl who is trying to blow a balloon up.

The girl puffs and puffs and then wonders if it has blown up enough or if she has to blow it up a little

more. She does not want to blow it too much because she is afraid the balloon will pop with a loud

bang.

1. How does the speaker’s balloon grow?

 Ans: The speaker blows into the balloon. It is small at first but grows bigger as she blows more air

into it.

2. Why should she stop blowing into it?

 Ans: She must stop blowing into it because if she blows too long, it will become too big and

then pop.
