 Summary: Goodnight, Tinku

This story, presented in the form of a comic strip, follows the adventures of Tinku the lamb.

Tinku lives on a farm with his Ma and Pa. One night, Tinku is unable to sleep but Ma and Pa

are sound asleep. It is a beautiful moonlit night so Tinku decides to explore the farm. In the

process, he meets a bat, a fox, a cricket and a mouse, and befriends them. They have a

wonderful time together, playing and laughing, but soon Tinku feels sleepy so he bids his

friends goodnight. He comes back to where Ma and Pa are sleeping and sleeps peacefully.

The story lends itself to a discussion on nocturnal animals and also helps students

appreciate the fact that night can be a beautiful place, not an intimidating one. Night-time

can throb with life and energy.

 Ans: Tinku was a lamb who was trying to sleep. He turned left and he turned right. He lay on his

tummy and rolled on his back, but he still could not sleep.

2. How did Tinku feel after playing with his friends and what did he do?

 Ans: After playing with his friends, Tinku was tired but very happy. He ran home and as he

snuggled up to his mother, he remembered all the wonderful creatures he had met and slept all

through the night.

3. Do you think Tinku would like go and play with the friends on the farm again? Why / Why not?

 Ans: Yes, Tinku would like to go and play with the friends on the farm again as he had really

enjoyed jumping and rolling with them till he was so tired that he slept through the night when

he went home.
