1. Traffic Congestion Near School

R-10, DLF Phase II

Subject: Traffic Congestion Near School

Sir

I wish to draw attention to the growing problem of traffic congestion near my school in DLF Phase II, Gurgaon. Every morning and afternoon, the area becomes overcrowded with cars, buses, and auto-rickshaws. This not only causes long delays but also poses a safety risk to students, especially the younger ones.

The situation can be improved through better traffic management. Authorities should deploy traffic police during school hours, create separate drop-off zones, and restrict entry of heavy vehicles near school premises. Parents should also cooperate by avoiding double parking and following lane discipline.

I request you to highlight this issue in your newspaper to create public awareness and urge the authorities to take prompt action.

Yours sincerely
Rajeev Mehta

Practice question 2. Increasing Junk Food Consumption Among Teenagers

Subject: Increasing Junk Food Consumption Among Teenagers

Sir

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to express my concern over the growing consumption of junk food among teenagers. Fast food outlets and online delivery apps have made unhealthy food easily accessible, leading to obesity, fatigue, and other health problems in young people.

Most students prefer burgers, chips, and soft drinks over nutritious home-cooked meals. Schools should promote healthy eating habits by banning junk food in canteens and organising awareness campaigns about balanced diets. Parents must also encourage healthy food choices at home.

Kindly help create awareness about this matter by publishing it in your newspaper so that more people understand its seriousness and take corrective action.

Yours sincerely
Priya Thomas

Subject: Rising Water Shortage in Shastri Nagar

Sir

I wish to draw attention to the growing problem of water shortage in Shastri Nagar. The water supply has become irregular, forcing residents to depend on tankers. The situation worsens during summer, causing great inconvenience to families and affecting daily activities.

This issue calls for urgent action. Authorities should repair leaking pipelines, monitor water wastage, and promote rainwater harvesting in residential areas. Awareness drives should also be organised to encourage residents to use water wisely and avoid unnecessary wastage.

Please help spread awareness about this issue by publishing it in your newspaper so that the concerned authorities act swiftly to resolve it.

Yours sincerely
Riya Mehta

Practice question 4: Lack of Public Transport Facilities

Subject: Lack of Public Transport Facilities in Laxmi Nagar

Sir,

I wish to draw attention to the lack of proper public transport facilities in Laxmi Nagar. Commuters face great inconvenience due to irregular buses and overcrowded metro stations. Many people are forced to depend on costly private transport, which is not affordable for everyone.

The concerned authorities should increase the frequency of buses, introduce new routes connecting residential areas to major locations, and ensure timely maintenance of vehicles. Auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw stands should also be properly managed to reduce traffic chaos.

I request you to help create awareness about this issue by publishing it in your newspaper so that the authorities take prompt action to improve the transport system.

Yours sincerely,
Ananya Singh
